Magical Fairy Workshop
Joan Marie L'Homme & Sharon Owens are offering a unique workshop that combines creating three dimensional pieces and writing a story or poem. The workshop begins with the creation of Fairy Houses from natural found objects such as sticks, pods, pine cones acorns, dried flowers, fruits, feathers, seashells, stones and other natural objects.
Student creators will use these objects along with unique embellishments brought from home to create a magical fairy house for "their season" or "season of their personality" (wishes and dreams) inviting a Fairy into their lives.
Of course, Fairies will require a vehicle (coach or car or boat) to explore with. Fairy communities are created and occupied Fairies now have names and personalities who become characters in their own tales complete with setting and other Fairies within the community.
The students/creators will then write fairtytales or poems about their Fairies for a magical Fairy story hour.
This workshop will be offered at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, MA on March 13, 2009 where Joan and Sharon are resident artists. Details will be forthcoming.
Contact Joan for further information. Call telephone: 508-679-3802 or 508-965-0647.
This workshop is open to the public; especially appropriate for educators; therapeutic art instructors; and anyone with an expressive and creative spirit. Everyone will be successful, creative, have fun and join together in a celebration of storytelling.
Magic Wands
A magic wand will be able to change the story so that there is a sequel that will continue the story. A magic wand will be created out of all natural items, leaves flowers, nature's bounty and have it be something that will change your poem as you wish. A poetry journal would help in this process.
Workshop Date: March 13, 2009 15-20 people/ 9:00 am- 3:00 pm. All ages welcome.
